The Time Entry Window
This is the first window that appears after the program starts. It is where time entries are entered during real time. This is where you will stay most of the time during day to day operation.
The Title Bar identifies the version of TimeLog and contains the standard Windows buttons (minimize, maximize, and restore).
The Menu Bar appears just below the title bar.
The Menu Bar consists of the following menus:
File Menu The File Menu includes commands to Backup and Restore the program data, security selections, and printer setup.
Edit Menu The Edit Menu contains the normal Cut, Copy, and Paste selections.
Action Menu The Action Menu includes selections for all the various actions associated with time management and program options.
Help Menu The Help Menu includes selections for program help, registration, and information. |
The Toolbar appears just below the menu bar.
TimeLog groups several commonly used commands on the toolbar of the Time Entry Window. This gives quick access and thus speeds your work.

Entering a Time Period
Start Button
Press the Start Button to automatically enter the present time and start a running clock for the time period. The time elapsed since the start time will be displayed to the right.
Stop Button
Press the Stop Button to enter the present time. The Time Worked will be calculated and entered. Also, if Projects are enabled, the Amount will be calculated and entered.
The Start Time, Stop Time, and Time Worked may be entered directly at any time. By entering any two, the third field will be automatically calculated.
If Projects are being used, changing from one project to another may be done by clicking on the project link. This will bring up the Project Browse Window. Simply highlight the correct project and press the Select button and the project will be populated on the Time Entry Window.
Select the Code/Category from the pull down menu. See Categories about setting them up for use.
Enter the number of units performed in the Units field.
Enter a short description of the work performed in the Description field. The Description field uses the Smart-Type feature. You may add words and phrases to the dictionary by highlighting a word or phrase that you have typed and pressing the Insert key. After that, any time the first few letters of that word or phrase is typed, Smart-Type will automatically enter it. You can then approve it by pressing the right arrow key.
Click on the Save button to save the time entry to disk.
Press the Clear button at any time before saving to clear all of the fields on the Time Entry Form.
